Overview
Northline is a collaborative workspace designed for teams that need to bring projects, conversations, and decisions into one place. The existing product had grown quickly, leaving users with a fragmented experience and too many competing pathways.
The goal was to simplify the product without removing the flexibility that made it useful. I focused on restructuring the core workflows, creating a clearer information hierarchy, and building a scalable interface system that could support the product as it continued to grow.
The Challenge
As the product expanded, important actions became harder to discover and everyday workflows started requiring unnecessary steps. Users had access to powerful tools, but the experience lacked the structure needed to make those tools feel approachable.
The challenge was to reduce cognitive load while preserving the depth of the platform. The new experience needed to make complex information easier to navigate, create stronger relationships between features, and give users a clearer sense of where they were at every stage.
